Description

Mandatory Access Control (MAC)

A type of access control that is based around strict, centralized authority that enforces permissions. This is accomplished through a mapping from users to privilege levels -- describing how/if a resource can be accessed.

Multi-Level Access Control (MLS) is a derivation of MAC, and uses classification like Unclassified, Protected, and Secret.
